Region 5: TMS Travel (25R5-R68)

This program supports the professional development and education of engineering and architecture students by facilitating their engagement with the masonry industry. It provides opportunities for ten students to attend The Masonry Society meetings, fostering networking with industry professionals and exposure to the latest research and practices in masonry. Through fully funded scholarships, the program removes financial barriers, supports academic excellence, and promotes diversity within the masonry community. By integrating students into The Masonry Society’s activities and encouraging mentorship connections, the program inspires innovation, strengthens industry standards, and cultivates a sense of belonging in the field.

2025 Masonry Education Day – Upstate NY (25R1-E32)

This program is intended to provide education and understanding of code-based masonry installation/design methods. The goals are to reduce costs, improve quality, avoid on-site errors and improve the confidence of designers in the use of masonry on their projects. An additional goal is to promote interaction between masons, mason contractors and designers to build relationships and familiarity with each other. 

CUNY Concrete Masonry Education Day (25R1-E33)

This program is intended to promote the benefits of CMU through various efforts during an in person learning day including offering 4 AIA accredited presentation, trade show/expo booths for additional awareness and promotions, and a panel discussion on lower embodied Carbon CMU. Additionally, this program will have an event held at The City University of New York and be centrally located to promote ease of travel for attendees.

Masonry MasterClass for Architects and Engineers – Upstate NY (25R1-E31)

To improve the quality of masonry design in New York State, the chapter has embarked on a program to educate designers by discussing design and detailing improvements that can be made to reduce the cost of construction and avoid on-site problems.  

CMC Block Learning Hub Build-out (25N-E30)

This program establishes a coordinated, centralized development and distribution center for concrete masonry educational content, targeting the architecture, engineering, and contractor (AEC) communities and related university curriculums to underpin familiarity and understanding of concrete masonry systems and assure it as a first choice in construction material options. 

Masonry Masterclass Webinars: Education for Design Professionals (24R5-009)

This program focuses on the development and updating of a marketing database and distribution list, as well as the creation of targeted marketing materials for six educational events. It will include the development and presentation of six webinars, hosting the webinar recordings on the RMMI website, and providing updates to CMC at critical project stages.
