Concrete Masonry Outreach Program

MCAC Education & Networking Road Shows – Welcome In! (25R4-O55)

Our goal with this program is twofold: to equip those who already recognize the value of masonry with the resources to continue building exceptional structures, and to provide those who are unfamiliar with its benefits the compelling information they need to be convinced. This will be done by communicating concrete masonry’s benefits to the AEC community, educating general contracts, and providing mason contracts with key tools and services.

Educating Students on Masonry Materials and Careers (25R3-O54)

This program will reach 800 students in the five initial schools with hopes of eventually involving the over 4,000 students enrolled in the Career Connection program throughout the state. Currently, students enrolled in this program do not receive training on masonry and we would initiate a masonry curriculum.

SCSU Mobile Masonry Demonstration Unit (25R3-O53)

The goal of this project is to educate high school students, industry professionals and the community about the concrete masonry industry and show advancements in technology and innovation in the industry.

Region 2 Youth Masonry Promotion and Outreach (25R2-O52)

This program will target the next generation who are seeking guidance on future masonry career paths. This program will develop the tools and resources to showcase the benefits of working in the masonry industry, and through direct masonry contractor and producer engagement, highlight the true, long-term benefits and inherent stability of the concrete masonry industry.

National Youth Promotion and Outreach Program 2025 (25N-O50)

This program expands the outreach to young people to enter the concrete masonry industry through a well-developed plan that will incorporate national and regional outreach. The project will continue to educate young people and the educators who are responsible for mentoring and guiding them in their future career goals and ambitions.

Concrete Masonry Outreach Program (23R2-048)

This workforce development program has operated in North Carolina for seven years and can be adapted nationwide. It includes four phases for implementation across all five regions, with Region 2 as the model. Data and career pathways developed for the program make it ready for national application. This program will facilitate implementation of masonry programs within the state and region levels. This will include the hiring of instructors, education of instructors, masonry contractor and producer engagement that will show true KPI with boots on the ground working in our industry.

Block Solid: Developing Tomorrow’s Craftworkers  (046-2023)

This is a first-of-its-kind national program that will work hand-in-hand with regional efforts to create a comprehensive concrete masonry outreach initiative. The Mason Contractors Association of America (MCAA) will develop and distribute any necessary resources that can be implemented on a local level. This program will also feature Regional Recruitment Development Centers with staff and resources that will aid contractors all over the country.
