Spitzer School of Architecture – Design + Build Competition and Curriculum

The main objective is to facilitate recognition that common building materials (Concrete Masonry) can be reinterpreted and improved by good design:

• Perspective: Making something extraordinary out of the ordinary, with objective parameters of analysis for improvement.
• Scope of work: Design and development of 5-15 prototypes of concrete block green-wall systems: documentation at CD-level, with course plans, sections elevations, axonometric representations of systems, key details, perspectival representations; sketch models; full scale prototype (finished at event).

This is a design build hands on education competition for one full semester. Two design team consisting of 4th & 5th year architectural students will compete. A winning team will be announced, and awards will be handed out at a luncheon Banquet.
