A key decision of the newly seated Concrete Masonry Checkoff Board (CMCB), is the selection of an official start date of checkoff assessment collections: April 1, 2023.
During the Board’s first session on November 16, 2022 in Chicago, on motion by Preston Sparkman, seconded by Gary Hensley, and by a vote of 13 -2 the Board:
“RESOLVED, that assessments permitted under the concrete masonry Products Research, Education and Promotion Act of 2018 commence as of April 1, 2023, at the rate of 1 cent per block.”
After full discussion, it was unanimously agreed that a task group of the Communications Committee will develop a plan for communicating assessment commencement to the industry, and that the Task Group will consist of Mr. Quinn, Mr. Finch, Mr. Gendron, Mr. Rustad and Mr. Hensley.
