The Masonry Society (TMS) hosts two events annually with a typical attendance of 200-250 participants specializing in the design, research, production, construction, and education of masonry materials and systems. These technical and networking forums provide for the exchange of information covering the scientific, engineering, architectural, construction, evaluation, and repair of masonry, which in turn are promulgated through TMS guides, education sessions and resources, and standards. While TMS meetings offer a fantastic forum to engage others with similar interests in masonry, participants tend to be older and well-established in their fields, with few fresh perspectives being offered from the next generation of masonry experts. In response, this request seeks funding to support participation of graduate students seeking degrees in engineering, architecture, or construction management and undergraduate students that are in their senior year and have acquired sufficient background fundamentals, to attend the 2024 TMS Annual Meeting scheduled for October 16-19, 2024 in Portland, Maine. The students will attend on the 17th, when the ‘Presentation’ segment of the four day meeting is conducted.
