The countdown continues – two weeks until the start of mandatory assessments, paving the way for game-changing programs designed to win back lost market share and drive new demand for block.

Assessments are a fundamental part of building a stronger future for our industry, with at least 50% of program dollars being invested back at the regional level. Remaining program dollars will be invested in national programs such as marketing, design assistance and workforce development.

Assessments will help strengthen the future of the masonry industry by ensuring every checkoff program funded answers the same question: does it ultimately drive demand for CMU?

Have a specific technical question about assessed products or have a unique accounting scenario that's not addressed in our assessment guide's Frequently Asked Questions? Fill out our online form, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

We look forward to getting assessments started, and working together to put block back on top.

Board Member Spotlight: Heidi Jandris

Meet Heidi, Chair of the Programming Committee for the Concrete Masonry Checkoff Board. Growing up in the masonry/construction industry, she has held numerous roles at her family-owned block company, Jandris Block in Massachusetts.

In her role as Chair, Heidi is leading the checkoff’s efforts to create a national masonry design center that would not only offer design assistance, but also help raise awareness and educate designers and engineers about building with concrete block. “As an industry, we’ve never had anything similar to a national design center. What we’re proposing through the checkoff would be a coordinated, cohesive effort to gain back market share for our industry. It would be a coalition that is versed in concrete masonry design that can be called upon as a resource for designers and engineers.”

Question of the Week:
